Principles for Blepharoplasty in SoonPlus Plastic Surgery

  1. Only Dr. Soon-dong Kim, the CEO and head surgeon of SoonPlus Plastic Surgery, performs blepharoplasty.
All blepharoplasty procedures that have been performed at Soonplus Plastic Surgery have also been performed by head surgeon, Soon-dong Kim.

  2. If you come to our hospital for the first time, Dr.Kim will consult you directly.

  3. On the day of surgery, Dr. Soon-dong Kim will review and design it himself before the surgery.

  4. The postoperative follow-up is also directly managed by Dr. Soon-dong Kim. In other words, Dr. Soon-dong Kim personally manages the entire process from the beginning to the end of the patient.

  5. In SoonPlus Plastic Surgery, eye surgery does not proceed while sleeping sedation. Only briefly sleep anesthesia is performed at the moment of local anesthesia on the eye area, and eye surgery is always performed while the patient is awake during surgery. This is because it can cause side effects in eye surgery while sleeping anesthesia

  6. Surgery is performed within the bounds of preserving its naturalness. Although it may not be as flashy as eyes that show signs of surgery, unnoticeable and natural results are priorities of surgeries.

  7. SoonPlus Plastic Surgery only performs what you need exactly. We do not perform unnecessary or inappropriate surgery only because the patient wants it. So the patients do not undergo excessive treatments.

These principles have been the policy upheld by SoonPlus Plastic Surgery all along and will continue to be upheld in the future.

How can I get good results from eye surgery?

In order to achieve good results, the surgeon must be skilled in all operations. This is because there are various types of eye surgery and even for the same surgery, there are different methods due to the diversity of the procedures.

For example, Ptosis Correction must be skilled in both incisional and non-incisional methods to perform surgery in the most appropriate way for the patient.

Typically, when a doctor decides on a surgical method, he or she usually selects the surgery they prefer.

Therefore, only when the doctor is skilled in all surgical procedures can the patient undergo the most necessary surgery.

The reason why there are so many eye reoperations.

There are many patients that want eye surgery, and in the case of Non-incisional Double Eyelid Method, it can be considered as an easy operation.

However, if you mistakenly consider eye plastic surgery as an easy operation, you may face disappointment. This is because, even though it is the same surgery, the design must vary according to the shape of the eye, and the surgical method must also be altered.

This can be said to be the most fundamental cause of eye reoperation.

Even highly skilled doctors can sometimes make mistakes, a typical example is when there is a protruding eye or blepharoptosis. In such cases, it requires more experience and skills.

In blepharoplasty, slight differences determine the success or failure of surgery. In the case of an Epicanthoplasty, the patient feels the difference even if it is 0.5mm different.

Therefore, doctors that perform eye plastic surgery should have the ability to notice small differences. Only when that ability is based can the patients be satisfied with their needs even a little bit more.

The success or failure of Canthoplasty is divided by a slight difference, and in the case of "Dual Canthoplasty" and so-called "Complex Canthoplasty" of SoonPlus Plastic Surgery, it is a surgical method devised and made by Head surgeon Kim Soon-dong, and it is a canthoplasty method that has been implemented by SoonPlus Plastic Surgery since 2014.

Dual Canthoplasty and Complex Canthoplasty are procedures designed to solve cases where epicanthus are formed and you want to get rid of mongolian fold, but you don't want the lacrimal lake to get bigger.

Dual Canthoplasty is a good way to remove epicanthus but do a little bit of Epicanthoplasty. Complex Canthoplasty is a good procedure when you remove epicanthus but you don't want to do Epicanthoplasty at all.

In the case of Dual Canthoplasty and Complex Canthoplasty, epicanthoplasty has already been performed, but epicanthus may be the same or worse. However, it is after being diagnosed that Epicanthoplasty is impossible because a lot of lacrimal lakes are already exposed. In this case, the existing method requires the addition of an Epicanthoplasty to remove epicanthus, but the existing method cannot solve this problem.

At SoonPlus Plastic Surgery, it can be solved without change of lacrimal lake while removing epicanthus.

In addition, although it is the first time to undergo Epicanthoplasty, if the close-set eyes or it is judged that epicanthus cannot be removed or surgery is impossible, satisfactory results are often obtained at SoonPlus Plastic Surgery.
